1. Information We Collect

We collect personal information through the following channels:

Website Forms

When you submit a form on our website, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), and any message you provide. We also collect anonymous analytics data including pages visited, device type, and general geographic location.

Geographic Location (from IP address)

When you submit a form, we record an approximate location (country, region/province, and city) derived from your IP address by our hosting provider (Vercel) at the edge — no external service or tracking pixel is involved. This is used solely to understand where our prospective students are located and to personalize follow-up (for example, sharing city-specific training context). We do not store your precise location or movement history.

Currency and Language Preferences

We store a small cookie (cisnet-country) containing your country code so we can default the price display to your local currency (CAD or USD). You can override this at any time using the toggle in the site header; your preference is then stored locally in your browser.

Facebook & Instagram Lead Ads

When you submit a lead form through our Facebook or Instagram advertisements, we receive your name, email address, and phone number as provided by you on the Meta platform. This data is transmitted to us securely via the Meta Marketing API and stored in our database alongside leads from other sources.

Google Ads

When you interact with our Google Ads campaigns, we may collect information you provide through lead forms or landing pages, including your name, email address, and phone number.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Respond to your course inquiries and follow up on your interest
  • Send confirmation emails and course information
  • Provide you with relevant training program details
  • Improve our website, advertisements, and training programs
  • Track website analytics (anonymized)

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling. All follow-ups are conducted by our team personally.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with service providers who assist in operating our business, including:

  • Email delivery services (for sending course information)
  • Database hosting providers (for secure data storage)
  • Advertising platforms (Meta, Google) solely for campaign measurement

These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and may only use it for the specific services they provide to us.

4. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, typically for a period of 24 months from your last interaction with us. After this period, your data is securely deleted unless you have enrolled in a course, in which case we retain your records for certification and support purposes.

You may request early deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/SSL) and at rest
  • Row-level security policies on our database
  • Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel only
  • Regular security reviews of our systems

6. Cookies & Analytics

We use first-party analytics to understand how visitors use our site. We do not use third-party tracking cookies. You can clear your browser's localStorage and sessionStorage at any time.

Our advertising partners (Meta, Google) may use their own cookies and tracking technologies on their platforms. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for details.

7. Marketing Emails & Unsubscribe

Every marketing email we send (newsletter, resource delivery, course announcements) includes a one-click unsubscribe link backed by a unique per-recipient token. Clicking it immediately removes you from the marketing list — no login required, no follow-up steps. Your record stays in our database with a status of "unsubscribed" so we can honor your preference. Transactional emails (course-enrollment confirmations, etc.) are sent separately and don't depend on your marketing subscription.

If the unsubscribe link doesn't work for any reason, email mani@cisnet.caand we'll remove you manually within one business day.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Withdraw consent for data processing at any time
  • Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at mani@cisnet.ca. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

10. Contact

If you have questions about this privacy policy or how we handle your data, contact us at mani@cisnet.ca or call (905) 281-1313.
